Brick Township Residents Urged to Inquire about Expansion of Stavola Asphalt Plant
Brick Township, NJ – A request is currently under review to expand the operations of the Arcosa Asphalt Plant, located at 429 Chambers Bridge Road, Brick Township, NJ 08723—and local residents are raising red flags.
The proposed expansion would increase production at the facility, which is located in close proximity to the Metedeconk River, a critical source of drinking water for thousands of Brick Township residents. The risk of runoff, airborne particulates, and other environmental pollutants from increased industrial activity so close to this vital waterway has raised serious concerns about potential contamination and long-term public health effects.
In addition to environmental concerns, the expansion could lead to:
Increased air and noise pollution
Heavier truck traffic on local roads
Negative impacts on nearby schools, homes, and recreational areas
